What this platform does
Gold Rate Today shows a live gold price for India and gives you three calculators — jewellery cost, karat/purity conversion, and investment projection — that run entirely in your browser once the price is loaded. We also curate offers from digital gold apps, jewellers, ETF/broking platforms, and cards, and publish articles on buying and investing in gold.
How we make money
We earn affiliate commissions when you use some of the links on this site — particularly on the Buy Smart offers page. We're stating that plainly here rather than hiding it: it's how the site is funded, and it doesn't change the numbers our calculators show you.
Where our data comes from
The live gold price comes from GoldAPI.io, a real-time market data vendor, converted from USD to INR at the prevailing exchange rate. That base price is currently refreshed once daily rather than continuously — a deliberate, temporary constraint of our current hosting tier, and something we expect to increase in frequency as the site grows.
On methodology, plainly stated: the "typical making-charge range" hints shown in the jewellery calculator, and the default deduction percentage in the karat calculator's exchange estimator, are currently illustrative placeholders — not the output of research into real jeweller pricing. We'd rather tell you that directly than have you assume they're more authoritative than they are. Replacing them with real researched figures is planned before this site is treated as fully launched.
