Privacy Policy

What we collect

We only collect personal information when you choose to submit it through our contact form (Talk to an Expert, and its shorter embedded versions): your name (where asked), phone number, city (where asked), and the reason you're getting in touch. We never sell this information to advertisers. The calculators and guides on this site do not need you to sign in or give us any personal details.

Cookies and similar technologies

Like most websites, Goldmitra uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — and similar technologies such as your browser's local storage. Web beacons (tiny images or scripts that count visits) are used by the analytics and advertising services described below. We use them for the following purposes:

• Preferences we set ourselves (first-party). A theme cookie remembers light or dark mode and a city cookie remembers the city you picked for gold rates; both last up to one year. Your browser's local storage remembers the city and zodiac sign you choose in the Gold & Zodiac Guide and, if you use "save on this device", your wedding jewellery plan. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
• Analytics. Google Analytics (GA4) sets cookies (such as _ga) to tell us which pages and calculators are used and how people reach the site. Vercel Analytics measures page views and performance without setting cookies.
• Advertising. Where we show ads, our ad partners use cookies and similar technologies as described in the next section.

You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; the exact steps depend on your browser (look for "Cookies" or "Site data" under Privacy). Blocking them will not stop the site from working, but your theme, city and sign choices won't be remembered between visits. To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

We've also built in (but not yet turned on) PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error monitoring; this policy will be updated before they go live.

Advertising and third-party vendors

Goldmitra displays, or is preparing to display, advertisements served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. We do not give advertisers your name, phone number or any other details you submit through our forms.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-site policy.

Some pages carry affiliate links (see how we make money). If you click one, the partner's own site may set its own cookies; their privacy policy then applies.

How we use it

We use the information you submit to contact you about your query, and to share it with the partner jewellers, gold-loan providers, or other partners relevant to what you asked about, so they can follow up directly. We don't sell your information to unrelated third parties.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, you can ask to access, correct, or have your data erased, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, reach us through the same contact form and mention your request, email info@goldmitra.in, or see our Contact page.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes — for example, if we turn on additional analytics or change our advertising partners — we'll update this page and the date above.
