Where this data comes from
Each month's price is the 24K per-gram spot price from GoldAPI.io (or its automatic fallback provider, on days GoldAPI.io was unavailable) on that month's first available trading day, converted to INR using the historical USD→INR rate for that same date, plus the same estimated 15% India gold premium (import duty, IGST, and local bullion-market rate) applied to today's rate — applied uniformly across the whole series so there's no artificial jump on the day this was added. It excludes making charges, wastage, and GST — the same basis as the rate on Gold Rate Today.
Frequently asked questions
Why does this only show 24K gold?
24K (99.9% pure) is the base spot price everything else is derived from. 22K and 18K move by exactly the same percentage day to day, so charting 24K alone shows the real trend without three near-identical overlapping lines.
Does this include making charges or GST?
No — this is the base metal price only, the same way the rate on the Gold Rate Today page is. Making charges, wastage, and GST are added by the jeweller separately and aren't part of this historical series.
